Suveg Cellars is exited to release its first Aglianico/Cabernet Blend! Swing by to try our first blend of these two classic varietals, named "Role Play" on Saturday, February 10th.

We recently released our Aglianico, which is one of Craig's favorite varietals sporting classic old world qualities of smoke, underbrush, and petrol. This is an enormous wine with lots of tannic structure, and can be aged for over 10 years. In places like Campania, some producers have been blending in French varietals like Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot to take down the high acid structure of the wine, and make it more approachable in its youth. Craig's experiment blending 70% Aglianico and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon places these two classic varietals into new roles, each moderating the other to create a harmonious and balanced effort. "Role Play" has all the classic notes of Aglianico, while also incorporating the cedar, spice, and black cherry textures of Cabernet Sauvignon. Aged properly, the wine will evolve gracefully over the next 7-10 years.
