Metal head and culinary wizard Chef Daniel founded Metal Kitchen food truck to combine his passion for metal music and cuisine. Daniel has been immersed in the culinary world for over a decade, working as a chef, teaching cooking classes, and refining his craft. Metal Kitchen is an extension of his ethos, using only the finest ingredients from fresh hand-ground beef made from a priority blend of chuck and brisket, to freshly grated cheeses, hand-cut fries, home-smoked bacon and house-made sauces. Chef Daniel will be serving up his creatively named burgers like the "Cowboy From Hell," the "Motorhead," and the "Fight Fire with Fire" on Saturday, May 31st from 12-8pm at the California Street Tasting Room!

Grill Master Sean Murphy rocked the house with his recent Southern BBQ for our 6th Anniversary Party this last Saturday. This Memorial Day weekend, Sean will be serving up his patented brisket, pork chops, and ribs and handing them out for free to anyone who purchases a bottle of wine! No food will be for sale, it will all be complimentary. For every bottle of wine we sell, Suveg Cellars will be donating $5 to the Gary Sinise Foundation, created by the star to support Veteran Communities around the United States. We are excited to support such a great cause and honor those who've served!

Ian Kauffman has been studying the guitar since age 9. He's honed his skills over the decades playing Latin, jazz, and classical styles of guitar. After taking some time off from work to study with the descended masters of acoustic guitar in Southern Spain, Ian's sound and polished fingerpicking techniques have generated regional acclaim. We couldn't be happier to showcase his skills at the California Street Tasting Room and bring his sound to you.

This spring, Winemaker Craig Suveg took a 3 week trip to Greece and Turkey to reconnect with legendary winemakers and the terroir or the region. Bringing back even more knowledge as well as new techniques and insights, Craig will be sharing his expertise with our community on Monday, May 19th as he takes a deep dive into The Wines of Greece and Turkey.
This intensive 3-hour workshop provides students with the opportunity to take a deep dive into Greece and Turkey, two of the most unique wine-growing appellations on the planet.
Students will be presented with 6 wines, and have the opportunity to taste through real renditions of grapes grown in the two countries.
Dive deep into the history of the region, and the unique set of microclimates that built Greece and Turkey into the intriguing yet underrated wine regions they are today.
Learn about the most famous vineyards and producers in Greece and Turkey, and discover how their methods of winemaking and aging techniques create sought-after renditions of grapes like Xenomavro and Assyrtiko.
The class takes place on Monday May 19th, from 6:30 pm - 9 pm at our California Street Location.

Chill Palm grill is an innovative mobile pop up that combines Vietnamese flavor with Latin form. Selling the likes of Pho Tacos, Phoquitos, Crunchwrap Phopremes, and Phorittos, Chill Palm Grill's unique take on classic dishes will surely expand your palette and make you rethink both Vietnamese and Latin food. Chill Palm Grill will be popping up at the winery next Friday from 4-9pm. Come try this unique culinary experience! Suveg Cellars is excited to announce the release of it's first vintage of 100% Mourvèdre! Join us this weekend to try our first release of this varietal, American Oak aged and bottled under the name "Defense Mechanism"!
The name Defense Mechanism was intended to reference this varietal's tough natural defenses, possessing very high levels of polyphenols among other things (similar to blueberries), protecting the fruit from its natural predators like insects, bacteria and fungus.
Mourvèdre is originally a Spanish varietal, however, the French adopted this grape as one of their own and it is now more commonly recognized as the "M" in a "GSM" blend; A traditional Rhône blend that consists of Grenache, Syrah and (of course!) Mourvèdre.
Our rendition of 2020 Mourvèdre has an intense medium body, with full fruit notes, robust smoky spice and red licorice. Layered with the aromas of mild cedar and baking spices, this wine pairs well with country dishes like roasted pork, beef bourguignon, or creamy chicken and dumplings.
Our 2020 100% Mourvèdre will be available for bottle purchase, glasses, and tastings starting on Sunday May 11th 2025.

It’s hard to believe, but Suveg Cellars will be celebrating its 15th year in business this May on Saturday, May 10th.
Before the California Street Tasting Room was ever a thought, Winemaker and Owner Craig Suveg bonded a small facility on his property in 2010 for the purpose of producing and storing wine. He eventually grew the space to capacity over 8 years, and made the move to the California Street Tasting Room in 2018. This May, Suveg Cellars will celebrate 15 years in business. Come join us for the festivities! Surprise library releases and bottle shares will surely be happening!

2. The group will function more as a literary meetup, where attendees discuss their favorite books, genres, styles, and provide recommendations to each other. This less rigid style makes everything far less stressful and gives attendees the ability to come and go as they please.
3. If you miss a Book Club Meetup, it's OK. Book Club will meet Second Thursday of every month at 6:30 pm at the Suveg Cellars Tasting Room.

A message from Devin:
“I’m deeply grateful for the community we’ve been able to build at Suveg Cellars and the memories I’ve created with countless people in the Tasting Room over the years. Your support has helped me build a foundation I never thought possible, and for that, I’m filled with boundless appreciation. I couldn’t be happier to begin a new chapter and want everyone to know—this is not goodbye, simply au revoir—goodbye, until we meet again.”
We’ll be throwing Devin a big going-away party on Saturday, April 26th, for anyone who wants to attend, from 4–10 PM. Food will be catered.
If you’d like to stop by and say “bon voyage” to Devin before he leaves, he will be at the winery for the next 5 days in a row, as well as every Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and event night we host at the winery this month.
