Nestled in the foothills of the San Bernardino Mountains at an elevation of 3400 ft, Suveg Cellars offer a unique setting for the growth, harvesting, barreling, and aging of fine wine. Surrounding our winery are multiple plantings of Cabernet Sauvignon from grafted rootstock, which are used in part to produce our Cabernet Sauvignon and participate in the blending with other wines. The warm days and cool nights allow our vines to gracefully ripen, while the rocky strata maintains heat allowing our fruit to mature in late October.

Our WineMaking Philosophy

Naturally, great wines can only come from great grapes. When sourcing fruit, every effort is made to represent that specific region’s terroir-defined style by producing a wine which identifies with that particular growing region and consistent with European winemaking traditions. Therefore, our approach to winemaking is predicated upon an understanding of how to bring the fruit from a particular growing region through its long journey from vine to wine as naturally as possible while respecting and practicing French and Italian regional blending and aging requirements. Suveg Cellars is enriched and inspired by its understanding that wine transcends many disciplines: history, religion, geography, geology, language, science and art.

Offering both single varietal selections as well as hand crafted artisan blends, our French wines primarily focus on the Rhone Valley of southeast France and have historically included Viognier, Roussanne, Syrah, and a southern Rhone style blend including a GSM as well as wines representing the region of Bordeaux including Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Verdot and a Bordeaux style Meritage. Petite Sirah, representing Montpellier on France’s southern coast is also consistently crafted.

Our selection of Italian wines is even broader and features Nebbiolo and Barbera representing the northwest region of Piedmonte, Pinot Grigio from the northeast regions of Friuli-Venezia Giulia and Trentino Alto Adige, Sangiovese and a Super Tuscan style blend from central Italy and Primitivo representing the Apulia and Puglia regions of southern Italy.
